Overview
Ovarc lets a company expand into a new country without hiring a local HR and legal team for every market: incorporation, payroll, benefits and compliance all run through one platform instead of a different vendor and process per country.
Architecture
A Node.js backend with a React frontend, using Sequelize and Prisma across different services depending on when each was built — a pragmatic split rather than a planned dual-ORM design, reflecting a platform that grew service by service. MySQL is the system of record throughout, and the whole stack runs in Docker.
Engineering
Shipped full-stack features across the incorporation and HR-operations workflows, working inside an existing service boundary and data model rather than a greenfield build.
